Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive cruise control* represents a major step beyond conventional cruise control. When its sensors detect traffic slowing, your vehicle also slows down. After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. Forward collision warning with brake support will alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A heads-up display, which simulates brake lights, flashes on the windshield. Vendor Spotlight: Rack-It Truck Racks

One-Piece Design provides Strength & Easy Installation:
We build our fully-welded racks to exact specifications to guarantee a perfect fit on your truck. Precise automated bending of raw tubes along with mig welded joints makes for strength and clean lines. There are no joints or bolts and one piece means a quick and easy installation.

Modular Designs available for Worldwide Shopping:
We build our modular truck racks with the same materials and design as our fully-welded racks. However, these component-based unites are efficiently packaged into one box for shipping anywhere in the world. Finished with a black texture powder coat, these racks are easily assembled in about 20 minutes.

Schedule 10 Steel Pipe Construction:
Our truck racks employ Schedule 10 steel construction on all of our racks because it is, without a doubt, the strongest and most durable material used in our industry. Steel pipe won't easily dent or bend, making for the strongest possible carrying surface available.

Full Length Angle Iron Mounting:
All of our truck racks utilize a full length bedrail which, provides you with a continuous mounting service and unmatched top rail protection. The angle runs the length of the bed rails, insuring a strong and sturdy connection to your truck while providing maximum strength for weight distribution on the heaviest loads.

Candy Cane Comfort:
Our unique "candy cane" design provides a nice contoured style to each rack, setting your rack apart from others that have sharp and jagged lines.

Weld-on Tie Downs:
Our rope hooks are a standard feature on each of our racks. Providing a dual purpose, these tie downs not only offer the function of a cleat but, the hook serves as a great fastening point for tying knots.

Vendor Spotlight: RackStar

Located in Reno, Nevada, RackStar® is an engineering design and technology company that is pioneering ergonomics in the field through its line of performance utility racks. We understand the field environment, and it is our mission to revolutionize personal safety by applying robotics and smart technology to the universal need of lifting and loading.
We are proud of how our RackStar Lift and Load Systems® promote workers safety and efficiency and lower operating costs for repetitive, high-risk human labor. The value of ergonomics is well documented in internal commercial settings. However, the use of applied ergonomic principles in the field, where the heavy, repetitive lifting and loading is done, has been under utilized.
We identified this opportunity, and we have successfully designed, developed, tested, and demonstrated our first proven performance product – the RackStar550. This system allows one person to lift up to 550 pounds with the push of a button. Our patented performance systems provide for a line of products that have the capability to lift and load up to 2,000 pounds. Whether it is construction, agriculture, building maintenance, recreational cargo, or the delivery of goods, our ergonomic technology will lower the risk for typical injuries that plague both individuals and businesses alike. Made in the USA, our lift and load push-button technology allows a single worker to lift and load material between 550 to 2,000 pounds onto a new or existing ½ and ¾ ton utility, flatbed or pickup truck – and eventually vans. It's that simple.
Behind the simplicity, however, RackStar owns multiple patents for the inventive hardware and software applications that encompass lightweight, low voltage, motion control, and robotics systems. With its ergonomic design requiring only one operator, RackStar performance systems surpass all others. Through its out-sourced manufacturing and distribution model, RackStar will sell into a large and growing niche of the $30 billion specialty automotive equipment aftermarket.

1995 F-150 E303 Cam

FordTruckClub.net member nine5flareside shows us his 1995 f-150 302 5.0 Flareside with newly installed FMS E-303 cam. Other parts installed include GT-40 heads (minor port and polish), 1.6 rockers, Edelbrock manifold and plenum, FMS 24# injectors, BBK twin 56mm throttle body, K&N air intake system, Pro-M MAF sensor and housing...

Pro- M sent me their chrome bullet housing, the chrome sucked to say the least. The copper was showing right through on a good amount of the housing. I called them about it and they were very rude but I do have to say, they were nice to me when they charged me 350.00 dollars (plus shipping) for it!
After installation of the Pro-M MAF sensor and housing, the truck ran like complete garbage. I called them and left a message about the issue... BY THE WAY I forgot to mention, they screen their calls... call them if you think I am BS-ing. I have yet to hear back from them and this is two months and three calls later. I had to pay a local mustang shop to recalibrate their garbage. Avoid them at all costs and buy one from BBK or Summit Racing... anyone but Pro-M.

Back to the mods... March performance billet pulleys, Tuff Stuff polished aluminum alternator, MSD ignition system, Bassani exhaust system and headers (more garbage) and a few more mods.

Ford Fusion Minimizes Allergens

New Ford Fusion Minimizes Pollen and 'Touch' Allergens While Monitoring Air Quality Near the Vehicle or Destination

Ford has begun requiring that more than 100 materials and components meet stringent standards to minimize potential allergy issues on the new 2013 Fusion and other new vehicles.

Engineers avoid materials such as latex, chrome and nickel -- a metal that 10 percent of Americans are allergic to -- which can cause allergic reactions

Similar to a furnace filter in a house, cabin air filters in the new Fusion and other Ford vehicles reduce airborne particles such as dust, spores, fungus and pollen from entering the vehicle

More than half of all Americans test positive to one or more allergens

Ford the Only Full-Line Automaker Named to Fast Company 2013 Ranking of World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies

Ford Motor Company is the only full-line automaker recognized in Fast Company’s 2013 Most Innovative Companies ranking
Ford joins top-ranked Nike and Amazon as well as technology companies such as Apple and Google and online educator Coursera
NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2013 – Fast Company’s annual Most Innovative Companies issue honors leading businesses, including Apple, Amazon, Google and Target along with such rising newcomers as Square, Fab and Tumblr. Ford Motor Company is the only full-line automaker named to the 2013 list. Nike ranks No. 1 following the release of two major innovations, FuelBand and Flyknit technology.

Fast Company editors highlighted an array of recent efforts by Ford, including the opening of a Silicon Valley Lab in Palo Alto, Calif. in June 2012 where Ford engineers can collaborate with some of the best and brightest technology minds.

Among the innovative features already available in Ford vehicles, the award-winning SYNC® connectivity system enables drivers to stay connected with the latest mobile technology using voice commands so that hands can stay on the wheel and eyes on the road. The all-new 2013 Ford Fusion offers one of the industry’s most complete suites of advanced driver assist systems, including adaptive cruise control and the Lane Keeping System all in an affordable midsize family sedan. Ford researchers are also hard at work on future systems including a driver workload estimator to help drivers manage stressful situations on the road.

The Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s most significant, high-profile editorial effort of the year. The editorial team spends months gathering and sifting data to identify those enterprises that exemplify the best in business from across the economy and around the world. The end result is a package that dares to be different, emphasizing not just revenue growth and profit margins but also progressive business models and an ethos of creativity. This year’s honorees include major brands like Samsung and Coca-Cola, creative upstarts like Nasty Gal and Uber, and social disruptors like Coursera and D-Rev. Internationally Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies package spans the globe celebrating such companies as Kenya’s Safaricom (No. 9), Israel’s SodaStream (No. 23), Russia’s Oktogo online travel service (No. 35) and China’s Landwasher (No. 38).

In addition to the Top 50, Fast Company also ranks the Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in 10 categories, including Big Data, Entertainment, Finance, and Food — all of which are featured in the print edition and on FastCompany.com. Additional Top 10 lists will continue to be rolled out online and through social channels in the weeks to come. Special online-only coverage: The Most Innovative Moments in Business, from Apple to Starbucks, Airbnb to Disney.

Notable on this year’s list: the absence of social media giants Facebook and Twitter. “Neither produced innovations worth celebrating,” the magazine explains in an accompanying article. “In the history of our list, fewer than one-third of the companies return from one year to the next. This year, only seven are consecutive honorees, an indication of how more companies in more corners of the world are innovating to seek a competitive edge, with the stakes only getting higher.”

Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March 2013) is on newsstands beginning Feb. 19 and available online at www.fastcompany.com/MIC as well as in app form via iTunes.

Ford Motor Company: A Look at Accomplishments in 2012

For Ford Motor Company, 2012 was a banner year. From revealing the new 2013 Ford Fusion at NAIAS and the 2013 B-MAX at Mobile World Congress, we showed the breadth of Ford design, the ingenuity behind great fuel economy, and the global reach of SYNC, having just entered China. Our award-winning vehicles in North and South America, Europe and Asia proved that Ford is on a winning streak in creating great products. In particular, the Fusion Hybrid, C-MAX Hybrid and EcoSport all proved that performance, design and great fuel economy can go hand in hand.

Our business story was also strong, leading with our Go Further brand promise and ending the year with over 2 million vehicles sold. Over the course of the year, we returned to investment grade status, leading to our reclaiming of the iconic Blue Oval, and notched our best ever total company and automotive pre-tax operating profit in Q3. We formed a joint venture: Changan Ford Automobile Company and saw sales rise in China by 21%. Meanwhile, the company developed its Better Plan for Europe and produced the 500,000th EcoBoost engine in the Louisville Assembly Plant.

Ford also contributed to making the world a better place in 2012. During the Global Week of Caring, over 10,000 employees in 28 countries on six continents completed 268 community service projects. The Ford Volunteer Corps completed 1350 Projects by 25,000 employee volunteers who spent 115,000 hours, or the equivalent to a $3 million investment around the world. We installed solar panels at our facilities in Cologne, Germany, and closer to home, our Operation Brighter Future .made a $10 million investment for Detroit neighborhoods.

It was a great 2012 for Ford Motor Company and its employees. We look forward to an even better 2013.
